Ingredients

  • 2 cups flattened rice
  • 1 cup grated jaggery
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1/4 cup water

Method

  1. Wash the flattened rice in water and drain out all the water.
  2. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan and add flattened rice to it. Roast it for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add grated jaggery and water to the pan and stir well.
  4. Cover the pan and let it cook for 5-7 minutes on low flame.
  5. After 7 minutes, check if the jaggery has melted and mixed well with the flattened rice. If not, cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Now, add grated coconut and cardamom powder to the pan and mix well.
  7. Cover the pan and let it cook for another 5-7 minutes on low flame.
  8. After 7 minutes, check if the flattened rice has absorbed all the jaggery and coconut mixture. If not, cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Turn off the flame and let it cool down for 5-10 minutes.
  10. Flattened rice sweet is now ready to be served.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness according to your preference by adding more or less jaggery.
  • If you like a more coconutty flavor, you can add more grated coconut to the dish.
