Recipe Tips

  • Make sure the rice is cooked and cooled before making fried rice. Freshly cooked rice tends to be sticky, which doesn't work well for fried rice.
  • Use a high smoke point oil, such as vegetable or canola oil, to stir-fry the vegetables and rice.
  • Make sure the wok or pan is hot before adding the oil and vegetables. This will ensure that the vegetables cook evenly and quickly.
  • Stir-fry the vegetables on high heat to retain their texture and color.
  • Don't add too much sauce to the fried rice, as it can make the dish too salty.
